Lost and Found
If you have lost your pet or found someone else's pet, please follow the steps below.
What to do next...
-
CALL AND GO TO ANIMAL CONTROL - Go to Animal Control as soon as possible. Bring a photo and poster to show the staff. They receive so many animals per day that they have no choice but to give the animal they pick up 72 hours before those animals are put to sleep. Just describing your animal over the phone may not be enough to decipher between it and the other animals. Animal Control of Savannah: (912) 351-6750
-
MAKE A REPORT TO SAVE-A-LIFE - Make a report with Save-A-Life and call other local adoption agencies to see if you can make a report with them. Other agencies' phone numbers are listed to the right.
-
PLACE AN AD IN THE SAVANNAH MORNING NEWS - Contact the Savannah Morning News. They will give a pet owner 5 days free for an ad in the Lost and Found section of the classifieds. The Savannah Morning News Classified's phone number: (912) 236-9511.
-
CALL OR GO TO YOUR LOCAL VETERINARIAN CLINIC - Call around to any local Veterinarian Clinics to see if anyone has turned in a lost or found animal. Like animal shelters, it's better to stop by and see if and what animals have been brought in.
